Responsibilities

• Washing produce 
• Chopping vegetables
• Place labels on packaging
• Cook grains, toast seed and nuts, and bottle salad dressings 
• Prepare salads
• Ensure kitchen equipment and appliances are ready for use
• Gather food ingredients from the refrigerator or freezer as required
• Ensure food is stored away properly when not in use
• Learn about the preferred cooking methods and techniques 
• Setting up and sanitizing workstations
• Comply with food safety and sanitation guidelines
• Washing dishes
• Sweeping and mopping floors 
• Taking out the trash and rinsing garbage cans

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience working as a prep cook in a fast-paced environment
• Good understanding of ingredients, recipes, kitchen safety and hygiene
• Passionate about culinary arts and creative cooking
• Familiar with general kitchen equipment and appliances
• Physically able to stand and move around for long periods of time

Horticulture

• Bed prep, seeding, transplanting, pruning,  trellising, pest scouting, harvesting
• Perform all Specialty Grower responsibilities in the Greeenhouse and Garden growing areas

General farm duties

• Lawn and landscaping upkeep
• Feeding chickens and horses
• Filling water troughs & mucking stalls
• Operating equipment as needed
